Self Portrait with Frida Kahlo
I made this painting last year as a birthday gift to FriDad, it’s a different kind of self portrait. I think real self portraits are for interesting people like Frida Kahlo ,for example, and I thought it would be more fun to paint the unseen rather than the figure.
Frida Kahlo’s Portrait
This is my second portrait in the Inspiring Women series, after Misuzu Kaneko. I painted her because she is the best example that the only way to be authentic is to be yourself. It is actually her diary that inspired me to create her portrait and not her art.
